Join us (virtually) on October 7 for Northern Plains Resource Council’s 2020 Soil Summit, bringing together farmers and ranchers, nonprofits, agency officials, and legislators from Montana and beyond!
Together we’ll explore how policy and financing tools can promote soil health and the adoption of soil health practices.
Our list of guest speakers includes:
Wayne Honeycutt of the Soil Health Institute, and Duane Hovorka of the Izaak Walton League who will talk about soil health at the national level.
Brian Shobe of the California Agriculture and Climate Network, Liz Moran-Stelk of the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, and Isabelle Jenniches of the New Mexico Healthy Soil Working Group, will speak on what their respective states have achieved on soil health policy and how it’s making a difference.
Our discussion of policy will end with a keynote address by Robyn O’Brien of rePlant Capital, sharing how the adoption of soil health can be facilitated through novel financing strategies. Calla Rose Ostrander, an independent strategic advisor on the environment and Jennifer O’Connor of Guidelight Strategies will dig further into financing soil health, sharing currently available opportunities as well as emerging strategies.
