Description

Mother nature plants trees in a specific way, so what can we learn from her as we look to bring trees into our grazing systems?

This is part two of a three part silvoculture webinar series. Our presenter is Steve Gabriel from Wellspring Forest Farm in NY. He is also an agroforestry extension specialist for the Cornell Small Farm Program.

Food Animal Concerns Trust (FACT) promotes the safe and humane production of meat, milk, and eggs. FACT envisions that all food-producing animals will be raised in a healthy and humane manner so that everyone will have access to safe and humanely-produced food.

Many welfare-oriented farmers want to reduce antibiotic usage, use safer and more natural feed, provide more space and better housing for their animals, and improve their ability to market their products. FACT listened to these concerns, and determined that the most effective response was through concerted efforts to expand humane farming and food safety—our two current focuses.
