About the KSU Food Forest Program Assistant
The position will assist the KSU Field Station Manager in developing and maintaining the food forest, a sustainable agricultural system used to address food insecurity; program development including creating presentations on food insecurity and how to address it; and facilitating Field Station educational tours related to sustainability, regenerative agriculture, and food insecurity/security.
- Provide educational tours of the KSU Field Station, with a focus on the KSU Food Forest, providing visitors (students from various organizations, including elementary and middle school summer camps) with information on food insecurity and how to address it using sustainable agricultural practices.
- Assist with coordination of and preparation for student groups coming to the KSU Field Station, including working with the KSU Field Station Manager to develop and maintain the KSU Food Forest
- Plan and conduct campus and community outreach activities (e.g. information tables, event coordination, etc.).
